BRIAN DUNLOP lives and works in Wiltshire.
He has drawn and painted all his life wherever and whenever possible.
He started his professional life in the British army but now paints full time, drawing on the surrounding countryside of the Vale of Pewsey for immediate inspiration but also travels elsewhere for material in particular Ireland, Scotland, France and, most recently, Thailand and Cambodia.

He paints mainly in water colour but has recently ventured into the world of acrylics for better - or, some may say, for worse! He owes all his teaching to Guy Barton, the inspired Art Master at Marlborough College when he attended the school. During this time he won the Masonic Art Cup and the Holiday Painting Competition.

His paintings, mainly landscapes, are a mixture of impressionism and abstraction. They are interpretative rather than representative and he aims to convey the atmosphere of his subjects and his feelings toward them, achieving a result that is more than merely literal or topographical.

He is very happy to arrange viewings of his paintings and will also undertake special commissions.
